• On the subject of spd stealth shoes, I can’t work out why very few seem to have the cleat properly recessed so the sole around it stops the cleat from clacking on the ground. Bought some chrome mids ages ago, they’re pretty good on the bike but really don’t protect the cleat from the ground. Think Shimano do an ugly touring one that does. Any others?

  • I haz the shimano shoes. Vibram sole, goretex, no clacky, much comforts, v v ugly.

  • quoc pham hardcourts (i have the lows) are about the best i've had so far. no clacking when walking

I don't think I'll ever buy dzr again as they literally just fall apart and come unglued in a few months.

had some chrome ones which were rock-solid but they don't make the ones I bought anymore and mine were a half-size too small (got them on-sale for $40 in their flagship store in chicago while on holiday so worth the minor discomfort).

'Cos otherwise it looks like you've got those built up shoes like you get if one of your legs is a lot shorter than the other.
