Gluing the Sidi sole in won't help. The water will seep through through the material part of the converse sole.
I'm going to use clear silicon sealant in a squirt gun to make it water tight.
Heath Robinson for the win.

I showed my colleagues the 'put it on your mug of tea' trick.
Tell me more?

I don’t reckon they’d need to be that waterproof, if your mudguards offer enough coverage. Just don’t stop and rest your foot in a puddle :)

It's my fault. I took my mudguards off for the summer, yesterday.

Traveling home from work yesterday up Garratt Ln when a cheeky car pulled out from a being parallel parked from my left and did a hasty U-turn into the opposite lane without indication resulting in me braking hard to not T-bone him as he cut across. Not very interesting really until all of the Cab Drivers at the taxi rank adjacent having just witnessed, beeped the car on my behalf and shouted to me ''Must have been an Uber driver''.
I was beaming all the way home after that.

The whole point of the shoes is to have a pair of SPD Trainers that I can cycle and walk in, without looking like I'm wearing cycling shoes. If there are puddles...

You know you can buy these right?
Also they will be 100% non waterproof with any hole in the sole.

Such as what? The only ones that look like fairly normal shoes are these Giros:

I'm lazy and I hate mudguards. It's going to take more convincing...

My commuter shoes have silicon in the sole holes and Gorilla Glue holding (half of) them together.
Get That Glue In Your Shoe!

Get one of those big sport direct mugs, empty entire packet of stroopies into it, pour coffee on top.

There's a whole thread for these:

Yeah, and they're all shit.
-
• #21995
Shit looking or shit functionally?
Because shit looking shoes is what 95% of the population wears already so shouldn't be any bother.
-
• #21996
Obviously subjective, but shit looking.
The point is, do they still look like cycling shoes? If yes, then they don't fulfil the criteria of "cycling shoes that don't look like cycling shoes".
And those Chrome that look like Converse but with a 5x thicker sole need to get in the fucking sea.

"casual"

Can you even read? ;)
Not exactly casual, but has anyone seen anywhere (online or in-store) that has the new Shimano RT4 in the 'Grey Melange' colour?

661 Filters look like normal skate shoes to me.
I've got a pair of freeride 5 Ten Five 10 whatever the fuck they are that look like they might take cleats, kinda like..

Ha, yeah, I know. But you know, even in the "casual SPD shoes" thread there aren't many shoes that you can actually wear in to work or whatever.
These look alright as well - they might even be the same model as the black/orange ones that I posted before:
Dooooo it.
