The rack is selfmade. (One of my early attempts) It is not the lightest, but that matches the rest of the bike. Heavy is ok though because it's just the townie.

Nah, looks functionally great! Though I'd probably try and get the racks next to the mounts on the inside of the mudguard stays - it puts less strain on the bolts.

I'm actually waiting on quick release mounts so I can get the guard loose when I need to pull the rear wheel out. One they arrive and I work out the best way to fit them, thats what I'll do.

Yeah. Times have a tab to guide your foot forward and in, these have nothing.
And the retaining nuts for the springs tend to loosen/drop-off.
