You can't get more than 14 years for causing death by dangerous driving.
I feel there's a point beyond which your behaviour with a car becomes so dangerous to others that the Road Traffic Act should no longer apply and some other legal framework should take over.
If I rev up a chainsaw and run straight into a crowd of people it would seem a bit ridiculous if the subsequent court case would be 5 weeks of deliberating whether this was the appropriate use of a chainsaw or not.
