  • Controlled it perfect simply got boxed. Extra 10m he won.

  • I don’t think Viviani can have any complaints, he followed the wrong wheel, Demare. Sagan jumped early and held it, had Viviani followed his he may have come around.

Good racing. Want to see more racing on plug streets.

  • agreed, armchair ds time... don't see why a sprinter would be on anyone else's wheel other than Sagan's.

  • You guys would have seen something else if Jan Willem van Schip hadn’t been completely boxed in ;-)

Him and Brian van Goethem, wow, still (silly) taking turns at the front after an attack of well over 200k

  • Agreed, in that situation you glue yourself to Sagan.

Great rides by the Rompot 2

  • "What are thossseee!"

  • OnOne Mary bars

  • Campagnolo mate. Like on race bikes in olden days.

  • Looks super narrow on the tops!

  • He's a trackie, rides the same bars on the track. Got 2 silvers at worlds a few weeks ago

  • Trackies with their aero bullshit. Ugly ass bars. No excuse. Too shallow, too narrow, and a fucking flair....? Almost ruined the race for me. Took all the attention from the racing.

Anyone looking for a new reliable way to watch the bike racing. Try Twitch, search for and follow Cyclingstream
Reliable for me for the last two weeks if you can stand watching English Eurosport. Watch live or replay.

  • Hell of the North?

  • Ace racing cool bars

  • Tom Stewart (JLT condor) won Tour of Normandie. Class rider.

  • Where was the video judge?!

  • That was rough, he was on the charge and would have made the lead group

  • LOLocopter

  • I would love to see some form from Stannard. A few years back he was being talked up as a potential Paris-Roubaix winner, now his season seems to revolve around making the Tour team and working as a domestique on the flats for Froome.

  • I'm quite surprised Van Baarle has been so anonymous so far as well.

  • Which one pays better?

Is Froome even going to be racing the Tour? Isn't he banned yet?

  • Most experienced riders seem to struggle with Sky’s training regime in their first year, like Kwiatkowski, Landa, Poels did. They usually get better in the second (and subsequent) seasons. Van Baarle could be the latest example.

  • Just saying his potential as a good classics rider is being stymied at the moment, and his career has gone backwards since 2015. He is capable of winning one day classics.

And I doubt it, ASO say they will not allow him to start, innit?

  • his career has gone backwards since 2015

His race results might have, but maybe his pay hasn't. It really depends on what you're after in the sport. He might just love racing and doing his bit for the team with a good pay rather than adding stress of going for wins. Maybe he knows he doesn't have what it takes. Maybe he's going to be like Hayman and race everything for years and then bust out a stunning late-career victory? I don't really pay attention to his racing so I'm not actually sure what he's been doing. Was he injured or anything?

  • He’s never been a prolific winner, nor will he ever be. He’d be best used in a QS type role, where he goes away a long way out and forces other teams to chase, but Sky have yet to show any inclination in using that type of tactic.
