Gorgeous. Love that waffle dial, you may be able to get it cleaned and find a replacement hour marker for not too much money. Great find!

I’m falling in love with Universal Geneves at the moment. Tried on an “evil Nina” yesterday... smitten! Prices got bumped sky high in the last couple of years after Hodinkee ran a couple of features but now stable at about half of their peak. Where’s that piggy bank?

Thanks! Yeah - the dial is fantastic. Any tips on where I may find one? Take it to a watchmaker?
Yep, agree on the UG front. Would like a polerouter a lot.

Just bought this SARB035 for my brother and really impressed with the quality. Keep looking at it then back at my SKX disapprovingly.

anyone have an opinion or owned a Junghans max bill? I'm looking at the chronoscope, to have as another daily where it won't get damaged; work, weddings, funerals etc
-
• #26661
I've got one. Love it.
-
• #26662
I don't think you can go wrong with Junghans. I'd try to pick one up on a watch forum, shouldn't be too hard to find

The meister sapphire range are gorgeous.
Particularly calendar and agenda.

Nice. Looks good in white... one of those and and SKX is a good combo ;)

I'm a 1 watch man (at the moment) so might sell my SKX in time to fund getting one with a black face. I hope the use of the word 'fund' is entertaining to those with more expensive tastes 😁

1948 seamaster - this version what are the chances of being able to get hold of one?

Take a look at the Eterna 1948...

...or the 1948 Seamaster from the 2012 Olympics

Is that the one being discussed a week or so ago? The spendy-not-spendy possibly discontinued thing?
-
• #26670
Yes that's the one (SARB033/5), I got it from eBay for £270 new posted and does seem every part the poor man's Grand Seiko.
-
• #26671
Good idea, the SARB is more of an allround watch than the SKX. Fits both dressy and casual :)

Released as a special edition for the 2012 Olympics:

I like that.

Don’t like the co-axial
Are we saying I have no chance?
^ I love it.
Sadly, even if I had the $90k spare for the RRP that wouldn't help me because the yellow gold and white gold versions sell for over double RRP and are as close to you get as invitation only as you can get for a Rolex.
Fuck knows how hard to get this pink version will be.
