You Reckon? Damn I'll have to see if I can side mount it instead. wonder if you can put them upside down

Not those ones. They're orientation specific, so you'll have to move up to an Iq-x or similar. Mine is mounted to the side, but it's a supernova so flipped.
I used to have it exactly where you do, Didn't end well. -
Get longer allen bolt, move light to one side, and put spacer inbetween the original clamp?

I'd move the light from there. Even with the guards, you will get water ingress from the spray. Also gets knocked to shit.
