Finally got round to building the Ali-Express hub/light, just in time for the clocks to change this weekend. After a while of head-scratching why the light wasn't working, only a tiny flicker at low rpm, finally twigged the light provided is DC (it works when connected to a battery) and hub is AC (works with an other AC dynamo headlight I have). ....if purchasing factor into cost, either a converter, or an AC headlight!
Quality is ok, although after a while of bedding in, the hub became loose, and needs tightening ...by hand. There's no lock-nuts, and as far as I can tell, relies on being set up correctly, then held there by skewer.
