  • Auto correct changing dyno to dino.

  • Your point is?

  • This is just going to turn in to another pointless annoyance of electrons.

Wonder if there should be a feature where you can make other users ignore your posts.

Just read the pistonheads thread, the post about the 960 series look at the engines that were fitted to that model and the differences between the 700 series, and the 940/960 bodyshells. Or just go and tell the pistonheads people they are wrong. Still banned from pistonheads?

  • All I read is that turbo wagons are fun and anything is possible with the right engineering and money.

  • Easier if you can raid the volvo parts bin to make things fit. Volvotips website is interesting read, if you are that way inclined.

I wish that volvo stuck with rear wheel drive, the odd thing is looking how the volvo estates were designed compared to everything else, especially ford estates. Then ford took over and stole all the little volvo sensible touches such as the trigger to unhook the rear seat base and fold the rear seats down. The volvo felt very natural positioning and action.

  • I miss Saabs. The way that GM conrolled saab and saabs reaction.

EDIT then how gm killed saabs chances of chinese investment.

  • In Somerset ta9

Hmmm... not sure I'd buy anything from someone from the West Country...

But it would be cool to pretend to be a '90s housewife rincing people off the lights. You could even go the whole hog and dress up like Mrs. Doubtfire.

  • I'd love a 940 or a 960. Every time I see one in good condition I get a bit jealous

  • agreed- and i also remember that post GM, Top Gear utterly slated the Saabs saying they were GM's underneath - and then when Saab announced closure, they did a big piece on how great and underrated Saabs were with some fancy nice mellow music driving a saab into the distance...
    btw. i hate top gear

  • Or dress up as Lovejoy and tinker

  • But they were right about Lancia....

I remember the cool wall adding of the saab with what looked like aftermarket stick on light covers. Hammonds sarcastic comment of they come out of the factory like that.

Wiki says that the ex saab company have gone in to making electric cars.

  • Lynx as ever has no idea what he is talking about. The posts on Pistonheads amount to “and then just swap the engine” in terms of covering the actual complexity.

A proper red to white block swap is extremely complex, and in no way a simple matter of ordering the right combination of OEM parts.

Internet knowledge is not always real knowledge-and Lynx has very very little real knowledge, listen to his drivel at your peril.

  • If the swap is so difficult, how did volvo production line fit both the modular engine and the b series in the same model? It is not complex, if you want complex, look at fitting the audi rx8 engine to a MK3 MR2. Now that is complex. with body modification and sub frame manufacture to get things in.

If you want to continue childish name calling go on.

  • They never fit the T5 into the RWD shell. If they had done so then issues such as the distributor, sump, engine mounts to name but a few would have been resolved.

I actually know about these cars Lynx- you can’t use your typical approach here.

  • In non-thick sexpest debate news, I think I’m going to get circa 200 miles per tank in the C55

  • What's that mpg?

  • It was showing 26 mpg cruising on the M3 this morning, and 15mpg in town before that.

  • Way too high. Try pressing the pedal down a bit harder.

I'm sure you can get it into single figures if you go for it.

  • I managed to get my 300TE down to 10mpg average once.
It was then that I noticed one of the fuel tank hose clips had come loose.

  • Ok once again. The T5 is the modular engine, you understand that? How many engine configurations, eg number of pistons in a row did it come in?

No you really don't know. But lets lead you to the correct answer.

  • Toyota Supra TT - 8mpg once .i'm sure the fuel guage moved before my eyes

  • What's an Audi RX8?

  • Opps R8.

That engine gearbox has been fitted to all 3 versions of the MR2.

  • Betting on how trashed the boxster is closes midday saturday....place you bets
