Excellent, thanks. Looks like I need some 280mm spokes for a 3x pattern, which at least ties in with one of the other rather more reasoned calculations I've found on the net.
What did you use to generate the picture of the lacing pattern? Looks like a handy tool to visualise lacing patterns, something I'm not particularly good at on an abstract level.

Cheeky request - what would the notional crossing figure be for a 2x lacing pattern on the DS? I'd just like to cross-check that figure against the length of the spokes I actually have, to make sure I don't make the same mistake twice...
