Assuming Complete not Compete? I wouldn't look at mileage too much, just get a solid 'time on feet' run each week building towards the time you expect to take, then shorter sessions as normal around this. Get lots of hills into these sessions too, low intensity but get used to going up & down. Same for off road element.
That said 30 miles a week is enough for a 'completer' plan for a Mara, so could be a useful measure for these races too.
Heptonstall will be a good marker for you, edit: 12 weeks is a good block of prep left too.
So, Ennerdale is 12 weeks away. I am slightly shitting it, but that's got me putting the miles in again. Couple weeks at 20 miles then going to need to push to 30+ mile weeks I imagine.
There's a 15 mile fell race on Sunday (Heptonstall brought forward a week after snow cancellation), guess it's time to jump back in proper!
My question for you lot, what kind of milage would you expect per week to train for a 23 mile/7500' 37km/2280m fell race? Is 30 miles a week enough?
I've basically started to shit it slightly, as a month after Ennderdale, I'm doing Wasdale, which is steeper (9000ft over 22 miles), and I was kindly informed by a friend that the woman who came 3rd in the FRA Championship said she almost missed the cut offs when she ran it :-/
