Was surprised Rapha were ecca memebers. But makes sense as all the best road races are ecca in Essex area.

Does anyone have any advice about selecting a TT saddle?

I originally had a San Marco Ponza TT which I liked but gave me numbness on long rides and anything longer than about 10 minutes on the turbo.

I switched to an ISM Adamo TT saddle which I've used for a couple of years - it relived the numbness and was very comfortable for shorter events but the width of the nose gave me bad chafing on my inner thighs on longer rides.

I borrowed an ISM PN1.0 but I discarded it because the nose is identical to the Adamo TT so wouldn't solve the chafing issues, also I wasn't convinced by the shallow sweep from nose to rear of the saddle.

I'm currently trying a Fizik Tritone. The nose is much narrower than the Adamo TT which is a great improvement, however it is also shorter and has an almost 90º corner between the top and front of the saddle which makes it feel like it is ramming up into my gooch just behind my balls. Another frustration with the Tritone is that I'm having a difficult time getting it set up to feel like it's in the correct position - with the Adamo TT the recommendation was to fit it with the rails parallel to the ground but I can't find any equivalent instructions with the Tritone... presumably I should be aiming for the top of the saddle to be within a degree or two of level (as per most other saddles)?

Any other suggestions welcomed... I'd quite like to try both the Aerocoach axis and the Fabric Tri saddles but struggling to find second hand versions I can try.

Buy them cheap off ebay, try them all, is literally what I've done.

I kept the second Saddle of Doom™ though and I think I took it to Oz - it's probably still on my Aussie road bike.

I could. It would remove the hassle of packing a bike for flights. Depends if it's a proper race next year or not.

Oh... that bike doesn't have a dynamo and since no one has ever survived a bikepacking race without using a dynamo I don't think it will work. #sealedleadacidburn

If you almost like the Tritone, the Selle Italia Iron is probably worth a look. They don't seem to exist second hand, but there's a new one on t'bay for £75 posted from Germany

I found this with the Adamo, even on some shorter rides if my chamois pad wasn't quite just so, but I did like the prong design. I've switched to a Dash Stock Stage narrow, which I've found very comfortable (so far). Trouble is, they're $$$$ and don't come up for sale second hand all that often.

I've bought one for my P5 which I haven't fitted yet as the P5 still, yes even after all these years, isn't finished yet. If you want to borrow it to try it out, lemme know.

You reminded me I still have a £billllllllllion Dash Tri.7 I've never even fitted to a bike. It's so light I was contemplating carrying it as a spare during TABR.

@ewanmac I have a Fabric Tri saddle you’re welcome to test if you want. I love it and even have one on my commuter.

Also have a Bontrager Hilo saddle you can have for very few £ if interested.

I’d be interested in the Bontrager if @ewanmac doesn’t want it.

I keep thinking about the idea of trying a stripped attack, I really liked the attack but found on long rides as I was so comfortable I didn’t move and pressure was in such a limited space I wore though the skin.

If only I could carry a spare arse.

Fitted the nw 58. Will see how it goes at ecca 10 but seems fine.
I'll probably drill the rivets out.

Anyone know if you can remove derailleur and re-rivet it?

It may also be bonded, which I overcame (on a P3C) with a Stanley blade. It did take some of the lacquer off too.

But I don't know of any reason you couldn't put it back on.
