  • 2 main products come up. One is £1k and comes from Japan, supposed to be easy to get records flat. The other is Vinyl Flat which is a clamp that goes in a heated bag and costs close to £300 once you get it over from the states. That's supposed to need a bit more thought and some records will still not flatten.

    In some cases pringled discs won't play right even if you get them flat. I've got a few that could do with flattening but none of the old school methods (lots of weight for a few weeks etc.) have ever worked and I can't justify the Japanese machine.

  • Thanks. They’re convex rather than pringled, I’ve got two and they sound just fine to my ears so definitely not going out of my way to try to correct it.
    Will try to stick em under some books, but I would have thought you’d have to bend them further than straight like when cold setting a steel bike frame...

  • Apparently a little warmth helps relax them, in my case it's usually a little warmth that fuxed them in the first place! I had a habit of leaving them on the deck in the sun years ago.
