I have used the following in Epping: some free Conti Speed Kings, some cheap WTB Riddlers and some overpriced Challenge Fangos all with basically the exact same results: it was slippery, I was slow, it was very fun.

Things usually start drying out by the end of April, so full-on mud spikes won't be needed :-)

The bike will be fine. Lots of people have ridden similar setups. The ride will be longer than usual, but there will be plenty of opportunities to take a break or bail out :-)

yeah in for this of course!
was boggy as hell on the wkend, could barely climb the first hill on the golf course even on high rollers
