Double High Rollers? That's a good workout!

don't have a suitable bike!
Sell unsuitable bikes, and get a suitable one!

How many Norwich-based forumers are allowed on a ride again?
-
• #31
No laps here. One big route :-)

Don't jinx it! They're very nervous beings...

Well, there's always a 75% chance I won't make anything I say I will so...
Anyhoo....suitable CX tyres for the Genesis then? Max 35c, not too spendy, GO!

Anything, except Halo Twin Rail.

Srsly tho, whatever @youramericanlover used to have on his Pomp seemed to work well.

It took me so long to register that one :)

I have used the following in Epping: some free Conti Speed Kings, some cheap WTB Riddlers and some overpriced Challenge Fangos all with basically the exact same results: it was slippery, I was slow, it was very fun.

yeah, you want literally the most aggressive tyre you can get your hands on, that won't rub your frame to pieces at the sight of some sticky mud

Things usually start drying out by the end of April, so full-on mud spikes won't be needed :-)

By April I’ve normally got twin rails mounted on the 29er.

Can I do this with a sscx and gravel tyres? If yes, I am in!
-
• #44
The bike will be fine. Lots of people have ridden similar setups. The ride will be longer than usual, but there will be plenty of opportunities to take a break or bail out :-)

• #45
Going to try and finagle some time for this ride
-
• #46
Excellent. I'll add a couple of extra hills, just for you :-)

More hills for everyone, of course.
Not just you.

Now booked in for a knee op on the 26th so can't make this. Bugger!
-

Argh, that's no good.
Still, if you really took it easy on the 27th...
yeah in for this of course!
was boggy as hell on the wkend, could barely climb the first hill on the golf course even on high rollers
