Mine came with 12mm and QR.

They are interchangeable, just pop off, so both could be right.

What's the general consensus these days on a good upgrade from some bog-standard road wheels? Probably got about £400 to play with, rim brake, for general road-riding (club runs, audaxes, sometimes using a largeish saddle bag)? Flitting between Hunt Race Aero / 4 season and also something handmade locally.

Rs81?
Or just save a bit more and get light bicycle crabonz

DTSwiss 460 on some niceish hubs then spend the leftovers on cake.

about £400 ...something handmade locally.
With that budget and no racing, I'd be thinking about Kinlin XR31 on DT 350, probably the straight pull ones.

Very happy with the budget-spec Kinlin XR22t set I got from DCR a few years ago. £400 would allow some upgrades.

Just bought some 4 seasons myself. The extra £££ for Race Aero didn't seem to make sense.
Seem like the best value / £ wheelset available. Rave reviews.
Mine arrive tomorrow :)

Anything better than Fulcrum Racing 5 for around £200? I’ve already got a set on the winter bike (they’re probably too good for it) but want summer training wheels. Happy to get another set but am I missing anything?
They’re 1,6xxg, easy hubs to service, wide rims. Seems like stepping up from there requires £350-400.

I'd look at Prime for tubeless and loads of spares included.
My 5LGs were a little over their claimed weight, more like 1,8xxg.

Ahhh cheers. These look bloody good value after 10% BC discount.

Are Prime a CR own-brand?

Yep

Are Prime a CR own-brand?
Yes

CR haven’t got them sadly and I’m determined to wring every penny out of my BC discount.

Christ - they do a 38mm carbon clincher for under £500.

Got a set of Giant carbon clinchers (shimano) going for 350£ over here if anyone is interested:

Forum approved carbon brake pads?

Lifeline blue

U bai? I'm considering them too. My current set up, on Dura Ace c24 wheels is just under 8kg. Those wheels would put me just over 8kg. As far as I can tell, this weight penalty will negate what I'm being led to believe are relatively small speed gains from an aero wheelset. What do?

I think I looked at these before but bottled it. Might stop being a snobby cunt and give them a go

Well I think that Swissstop Black Prince are the top tier recommendation, but everyone I know with carbon wheels is happy with the lifeline ones.
Anyone know for sure if the Hope 20five rs4 comes with 12mm front end caps? Hope site says yes, Merlin say 15mm.
