Fifty five miles of snowy mud on the cross bike yesterday. The last fifteen were honestly some of the toughest miles I've ever done!
The temperature never got above -1C. Everything froze - my water bottle, cassette (went from 1x11 to 1x1 by the end of the ride), the derailleur, cables, me. Somehow the mud wasn't frozen until it stuck to the bike though. Rode past snowdrifts as tall as I am!
The route was great though, mainly canals & old train tracks converted into cycleways. Would have been lovely were it fifteen degrees warmer., was an (tough) adventure instead!
