  • Does the mount fit both standard and oversize handlebars comfortably?

  • That's the only thing that's making me hesitate on getting one... Is it solid?

  • I've also got one on my aero bars on my geared bike and that's got plenty of spare velcro. There's almost too much on 1" bars. They are plenty stable. Go on - spoil yourself!

  • OK, I think I will... Got your PM, Colin... I'll be keepin' 'em peeled, stay outta trouble... ;]

  • Bought an LD10 about 6 months ago for use on hols and also for bike use afterwards.

It was great on holiday but after a month or so of using it on the bike it intermittently started switching itself off mid-ride and won't come back on. But then when you come back to it next morning it switches on fine.

Oddly I can't duplicate this off the bike, just seems to be an issue when on the bike.

I suspect it's either the cold weather causing it to switch off or the vibrations through the handlebars causing issue with the circuits.

speak to the photonshop, they're the UK distributors and may be able to help.

    easily

That's the only thing that's making me hesitate on getting one... Is it solid?

and yes it is very sturdy, the light hardly jolts

and i also lean it upwards to some rude buggers mirrors

  • bump. offer still going.

  • and very good lights they are too.
    no probs. with mine yet

  • Yup their v.good. reccomendeed

  • I need a few of these in my life.

  • bump, had a few PM's asking 'this still going on?' - Answer YES. PM me for code.

    bumpety bump :)

  • Offer still going. Dark nights here, dark mornings coming soon. ho hum!

  • Anybody used the Twofish Lockblock as a replacement for the (frankly rubbish) Hope Vision 1 mount?

I have tried the usual inner tube method, which works (to a fashion), but the light still shifts around my bars and never seems to hold a constant position.

It might be something to do with me mounting the light under my bars as opposed to over....

Another question. Do the Fenix LD10 & LD20 only strobe at max power?

  • In case you missed my various posts about the Hope's mount prior to this one, the mount is great if you throw away the rubbish inserts. They reduce the mount's contact patch around the bar to 2 small squares. Shit design.

Without them, the mount contacts the bar all the way around. Just use a normal rubber shim, like the kind you get with many other lights, or inner tube layers, or whatever. Then it's all Ashford & Simpson.

  • I took the square bits out and cable tied an inner tube onto the mount as I want to keep things all-in-one as I keep losing rubber shims in the bottom of my bag.

    Still find the light shifts.

I must be doing it wrong...

  • If it's tight enough, there's a point at which you get more of a tangible snapping into place of the lever, during the final part of the movement. A lot of people have commented how the correct tension is a little higher than you'd initially imagine.

  • I've found that for my Cinelli bars (26.4mm diameter) on the Olmo I need two rubber strips as the thread on the handle runs out before I get full tension.

Basically, try using more inmner tube!

  • Do the Fenix LD20 only strobe at max power?

    yep.

  • Ordered an LD20 R5 (with free mount - thanks a!) for DD19, worked a treat. Was plenty bright enough on the lowest setting for the majority of the ride. A couple of the darkest stretches I needed to bump it up a level, but didn't approach needing full power. Highly recommended!

  • Anyone repaired a Fenix E01? Mine appears to be dead. Bit sad, it didn't have a hard life. My Mag lite is way older.
