The Bates frame with fancy chromed lugs went for £600. Apart from that, and a vintage Carpenter, most things went for less than I thought they would. Don't remember exactly, but the lovely Tommasini Super Prestige SLX frame was about £250, the Basso with Dura-Ace & yellow Flite wasn't much more than that. Curly Hetchins, Mercian and repainted Merckx frames were each under £100. I think the tall Sassi was just over £300.
I only came across it by accident myself, as my partner had a (non-bike-related) item in the sale. She happened to mention that "there were a lot of old bikes" in the catalogue...
Obviously either bereavement or bailiffs, nobody in their right might would shift stuff like that in a non specialist auction. Someone did well. That Sassi was particularly fine.
