Hey, so I'm looking for a road bike after riding fixed for ages. Budget around 500. Saw this, had a ride, really nice frame and wheels (Ribble Columbus SLX, Mavic Open Pro SUP). Would probably change the shifters, big ring, pedals and stem, possibly derailleurs too. Listed at £350, think I could get it down by 50 or 100.
I'm not a fan of aluminium and it seems my budget doesn't stretch to carbon with decent components. Figure an old steel bike like this could be the right choice just for soaking up the miles. Take it or pass?

Boardman Team Carbon 105 or Rival seems to fetch around £400 second hand. If you're looking for something to ride rather than a project, you want to go as modern as possible.
