I’ve heard of the scheme but decided against it. My just turned 8 daughter races bmx and loves cycling so we splashed out on an Islabike beinn 26 - she just fits and it should last her ages. Lots of scope to put on longer stem , seat post etc as she grows. Between 6 and 8 is tricky fit wise as a bike with 24” wheels may be the size to go for. It might be worth doing the scheme to see if she likes cycling and investing further down the line. V good resale values on Islabikes. I’ve pimped my daughter ‘s with a king headset already!

I’m already thinking of changing the tyres and getting a Thomson layback for when she’s older.... 😄

Thanks for the tips. Maybe I’m a little to excited about this. I’m not sure if she shares my enthusiasm! Love the pimped Isla. Like the look of the hope academy too. Maybe a couple of early riders for my 22 month old twins will be added to the wish list.

A colleague of mine uses them. She seems pretty happy with it.

I know someone who uses them kid is on 3rd bike within a year, it's good that you can swap over at all the sizes rather than going a bit beyond to save money, all have been frog bikes.

So decided to go for bikeclub option as Hopeacedemy have allocated all theirs for the time being. A Frog52 was delivered earlier this week. It's actually quite a nice little bike and comes with mudguards and a spare set of (knobbly) Kenda tyres.
Very impressed with how simple this was to set up and the time scale to delivery was impressive. One very happy daughter.
It's half term next week, so we'll see if she can get the balance point and take off into the distance and hopefully a lifetime of enjoyment. It would be so easy to be pushy, but softly softly to begin with. Kicking myself for not ordered the 48 as this seems slightly too big, but I think she is at the just between stage. If I need to swap for smaller it looks like there is a small charge of £15. We'll see how we go next week. Planning on chucking my Brompton in the boot in case she's a natural and we'll go exploring.
Think it's time to try and get my 6 year old daughter into cycling. I was considering splashing out on an Isla bike (but what if it sits in the garage unused?)....
Then I found this lease scheme.

Looks pretty reasonable and if they outgrow the bike it can be exchanged for a larger size.
Frog 52 for £10.45 on a 6 month contract sounds pretty good to me. If it doesn't get used over winter, cancel the contract and start again spring 2019.
Anyone on here have an experience of this service? Almost sound too good to be true.
