Straps - I quite like the look of the nautical rope ones, are they actually rubbish?

Also, I'm loving my new 23mm.

The paracord ones ? I've got a couple and like them.
Lomography did an article the other day on making your own

X posted from digital photography thread...
So I’m seriously thinking about buying another digital camera (having used pretty much film for the past few years). Previously I had a 5d and sold all that kit.
What’s the best option for me to go for? Compact maybe? (I’d imagine I can get quality to rival the 5d now right?) or should I go down the cheap dslr route?
Happy to hear all the options.
Thanks in advance. -

Also just like to add I saw the x pro 1 for under £300 notes. Is that a good price?

What are you taking photos of ? and what do you want to do with the images ?

It’s a lot of camera for the money, but I don’t know if it’s a good deal. You can def take good pictures with it though.

I've got one from him, they are great quality and value. Camo ftw

Mainly just want to document, so travel, portraits that sort of stuff. Also printing the odd picture - nothing huge.
Also - to add I like the idea of wifi connectivity.

I've been looking at this;
Quite like the fact it's smaller.
Or this one... which at 499£ with 2 lenses seems to be a very good price, also has a view finder...

I just got the lumix LX100 and my first impressions are that it's great. Every review sings its praises as well.

Neither of those is small enough to put in a pocket (pending pocket of course). For me it's either something that'll fit jean pocket or proper dslr.
Ricoh GR2? I'm getting one as soon as they're restocked

X100S/T/F is a nice camera, probably slightly larger than you are looking for but usefully smaller than (say) an X-Pro 1/2.
With that said, an X-Pro 2 with the F1.4 23mm is a significantly different proposition to the X100F with the F2 23mm.

where can I get a CR2 battery in central London today?

Screwfix, Currys, Boots, Maplin, Jessops, Wilkos, John Lewis

They're pretty common. Boots, Maplins (if they still exist), Currys, etc

Pretty much anything will work for you in that respect. Decide if you want interchanges lenses or not. If you want interchangeable lenses, weigh up the cost of them.
Decide how compact you need it and if you need viewfinder as well as a screen. Try a few out in John Lewis, Jessops etc. -

Unless you are shooting classic street photography (in snap mode and/or with the accessory optical viewfinder) I’m not sure an Ricoh does anything an iPhone doesn’t. A phone is more discreet also.

GRII is most definitely better than my SE, but it doesn't beat the newer models?
-
• #923
Really? Is the IQ of the iPhone X on par with a gr2?

I would agree. The difference wasn’t big enough for me to keep the Ricoh though.

The ergonomics are a big part of why I never really use my phone for pictures. YMMV.
It is a joy to shoot with though. Beautiful microcontrast
