Are they both 26"?
-

The WTB has a 26" rear wheel, and 700c front. My Talbot is 29" ( so 700c ) front & rear.

I aligned the front wheels, only spent about a minute on it though. The angle is a bit different between the two as well. But safe to say it's for a very large person.

Schwalbe City Jet. Heavy but good puncture protection and smooth rolling. And super cheap at £20 a pair.

And apparently almost completely unrideable.

Hmm, I'm 6'7", and while I admittedly have a low saddle for my height, that's interesting....
-
• #786
edit; I'm wrong

It's a 650b front, not 700c. And the perspective is a bit shit because of the focal length and angle. But it's not far off.

Whoops... reading fail. Kind of read this bit and lost concentration.
"But then I got to thinking about Charlie Cunningham’s “69’er” that is
one of his favorite rider bikes. It’s a frame he built in the early
90’s to test suspension forks. After a few years he decided he didn’t
really care for any of them and made a very special “crownless”
Type-II fork for that bike that allowed him to run a sorta-29” front
wheel with a relatively skinny Panaracer 45c tire, blah blah blah
blah....." -

I'm in Canada so the Halos are pretty hard to get hold of unfortunately. Will keep an eye out though.

Maxxis makes a couple. I like the DTH for city bruising, and the Minions are solid if you want a chunky af trail tire.
I think the Minions are supposed to be for DH so the rolling resistance is not great, but the grip is outstanding, which is valuable if you're like me and putting them on a single speed. I'll also note I got them for $25 for the pair at a swap meet and retail is kinda absurd.

sorry, but whoever said this is an absolute class A idiot, city jet are great tyres.

I think danstuff meant the giant roller skate thing ;-)

I was replying to the earlier post about the weird-looking Cannondale. I've no idea what the City Jet tyres are like.

You know how the reply link works though, so that's cheating.

Hmm onza then?

Yeah I've checked out the Maxxis DTH which look like a good all rounder for around $100 a pair. The City Jet suggested above are much cheaper but don't look like they're good for anything more than road riding.

Long time lurker. This thread got me looking at Yahoo Auction over here (like Japanese eBay), given the glut of cool, old mountain bikes here.
Came across this Panasonic // Mountain Cat tandem MTB (photo is a screenshot, so below is a link to the listing with better shots).

oh sorry! yeah I guess it would be a challenge with tiny rollerskate wheels!

No worries. According to one article I read, the only person who managed to ride it more than a few metres was a Cannondale factory trials rider. I suspect it didn't help that the steering was by cables running from the bars to the tiny wheels.
It's not somebody short, for sure.
I'd be curious to see these two bikes overlaid, to check out where the contact points are.
