Yet to come. We might not use paypal because of the 3% loss.
Unless people are willing to add that we will go for money transfer via invoice. -

It won't be critical if you oil it once in a while. I will give it some Jade oil for you. The Jade oil lasts quite a while once hardened/dried if you keep bike indoors over night.

I’m planning to linseed oil mine, there’s a raw steel treatment thread somewhere and I posted recently about using linseed oil.

Cool cool.
Given your rep and the attention this thread is getting I’d be happy to send PayPal gift but if there’s a better way, I’m happy to do that too.

Haven’t tried jade oil and had a similar opinion of linseed from the first time I used it but just recently I tried ‘smoking’ it.
There was no smoke but heating the piece with a torch and then torching it again after applying the oil left a really nice matt finish. No stickyness at all. I ended up not using the bars I did it on so they’ve not been out in much weather but they’ve not developed any corrosion.

Buy something silly like this: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/stems/60-humpert-cattube-1-inch-quill-stem-254mm-clamp-blacksilver-60mm-height-300mm/
300mm!
Edit: but that's top bodging, commendations to you
Double edit: you could end up with something like this beauty:

1 1/8"
ø31.8
+/- 0
L100mm
H100mm

Just in the meantime until these get made... Not tempted to go 1" ahead? Just file down the threads on your fork and get a new headset
Edit: oh wait, steerer is probably too short. But threaded headsets are the devil.

• #170
Get a cheap 1" fork, weld the steerer on top.

Is the price the same for everyone regardless of finish and shipping?
-
• #175
No, I haven't actually thought about shipping.
Hmm.. Just pay the amount now and then we figure out shipping later. But I will see how cheap we can do it. Maybe Jesper can bring back yours or I can ship it with his frame.
Sorry for more annoying questions, but is it fine to leave the stem raw, without powder coating? I prefer that finish and don't mind if there is patina or wear over time, as long as it's not compromising anything critical.
