Jacob's Ladder?
-
• #253
It is! The Fukuoka Wideboys™ adventure is set for around October. If Will can get his shit together and build his dream tourer...
-
• #254
No Jacob's Ladder for me this time, but I hope to spend a lot more time in Tassie so it'll happen one day..
-
• #255
It's on my bucket list for sure. Looks absolutely stunning/brutal.
Edit: For the people that don't know about it, here's a pic on Flickr

Yikes!

I've basically just been reading this thread instead of working for the last few days. Inspiring stuff. I think I may have to join the 27.5+ club and get out on some adventures.
-
• #258
Glad to hear it! I spend all of my time at work writing them so it's nice to hear people enjoy it :)
Also; doesn't need to be 27.5 to be an aDvEntEUr, just get out and ride what you got!

At work!
Lucky bootlegger.
Lovely read, thank you . -

Todd made me to a 200km Gippsland audax and I'm very glad he did. It hurt a fair bit and was 34 degrees at midday, but we bloody made it - all dusty and rough as shit and elated. I took very few photos, but enjoyed myself thoroughly.

Solid. Lots of climbing?

Yep that's the one... Plenty of climbing...
-
• #264
How long did that take you? I did about half of that yesterday and was creeping!
-
• #265
Strava says 9 1/2 hours moving time. We went off like a frog in a sock for the first 50, and then took it easy after that. Felt surprisingly good at the end, but now I can't stop eating.

Its been too long since the last adventure write up. Don't leave us hanging like this.
-
• #267
I know, I know! Busy times of late... Weirdly though, I'd started the write up for the final leg of TJUFF SHJITT today before reading your comment. Hang in there ;)

Based on your insta stories there's some quality coming up right there ...

Oh man, this thread has made me want to get my arse over to Victoria for some adventurous riding! Really wish Adelaide had regional trains, seems like the way to go for getting out of the city (although our rail trails are mostly just paved tracks through endless vineyards)
-
• #271
You're in Adelaide? PM me for some rides if you want ...
As for trains, of course as a whole you're right, but you could take the seaford line to the end, then either ride around McLaren Vale and down to cape jervis/victor harbour, or you could head north to Gawler and ride towards Clare.
Last but not least there's more stuff right on our doorstep without the need for a longer commute out, and that's pretty good in itself, no?

Yeah man, always keen for adventure pals. I'm in the depths of uni hell atm, but come July I'll be itching to spend my holidays getting lost, eating carbs and pushing my bike up steep hills.
There's definitely some great riding around ADL, but look at those misty forests! Snowy alpine huts, oh man. The grass is always greener I guess.

Aaa, link me pls!
-
• #274
the thing about instagram stories is that they're not linkable as far as I can see?
-
• #275
I meant a link to the profile :)
Fair enough, I've seen a few orange ones cruising round and about.
Managed to get myself sorted on the job front so now it's just a case of not fucking up, sitting tight until pay day and then I can go all out on beers and bikes (or maybe pay my rent and credit card bills but whatever, a man can dream...)
