Your loft must be a magical place - definitely give that a try first.

It is indeed a place of thaumaturgy and wonder. Where anything is possible: Even sewing machines, damp and a baffling number of cigarette butts for a household who do not smoke.

I've tried about 3000 handlebar bags also due to small frame and have settled on a ten quid job from decathlon. Spent the savings on Ritter Sports.

Cut a slot in the leather patch on the bike to attach a strap to go around the top tube to stop any swing.

I'm planning on cycling Monaco to Rome later in May, and looking at luggage options. My bike is wholly unsuited (no rack eyelets), but as I'll be staying in hostels/b&b's, I think I can get away with just a saddlebag (~10L).
Are there any forum favourites? Waggle free, and not too expensive being big plusses!
These two are current contenders (along with offerings from Ortlieb/Alpkit/Restrap):

What's wrong with a little waggle?
Go Carradice. -
• #3683
Whatever you go with it's nice to also have a top tube bag or a stem cell bag for things you want to have access to on the road

All of these seem pretty badly made. Get one from Wildcat gear or Revelate, or make one yourself if you don't want to pay so much

Super satisfied my little dslr fits in a revelate gas tank.

Restrap!

Go old school and buy my Carradice - it will last until you die!
-
• #3691
I would but not keen on the modification.
-
• #3692
Nope, but its already kinda padded in the first place. I havent tried it on a bumpy gravel road yet, the bag and camera does sit very snug, so cant imagine too much knocking around. This camera's way over its life expectancy anyways, so not too picky ;)
However theres that massive tripple cable stop right under the bag. i'll have to put something over top to not tear the fabric over time.

Hardly notice it when it's got stuff in it and stops any bounce. Put some better pics up.

Already booked up for Easter, but I'd be interested to hear how you get on. I'm planning* a crack at the TCR later this year.

Anyone tried any of the new PlanetX PodSacs bikepacking kit yet? Not bad on the price, especially the bundles...

Not tried them, but word is they're very waterproof and rather heavy.
Be careful with Planet X's unique approach to pricing; you may be able to get a bundle cheaper by adding the individual bits to your order...
Thought his weight was quite under control for this age.
