The J&L ones are made in China/Taiwan, I’ve bought some of their stuff before and it’s pretty good. I’ve no complains about my J&L post. Bear in mind that the Brompton titanium seat posts, forks and rear triangles were made in Russia and Slovakia and they were good enough for Brompton.
I personally prefer the plain post with a Brompton pentaclip to the ones with the twin clamp bolts, as I’ve found that they tend to stick out a bit and tear the sides of the saddle when you sit on them - I had a Flite cut in 4 places after one ride on that type of clamp.
Had to search back for that conversation, and it seems to seatposts have evolved since then, I’ve found this one on eBay which is a decent price,

Just wondering what the difference in quality is between these and some of the ones that cost twice/three times as much that you can get from the states..
