Grun 54cm Track Iron (Part Deux)

  • Priced to sell at a firm £600. Owes me considerably more, just too big for my middle earth frame so just done a few miles.

original thread is here... click me

since then I've un 1980's it and lost the over co-ordinated (read cheese) white post and stem. and swapped the seatpost for a chinese crabon and a nice thomson x4 stem. I could sell it without the NOS rare Concor blue saddle (now shift for over £70!), but think it kinda goes... the frame alone is £600 plus import hassle. This is a Red Hook Crit frame from the Royal Team. I had some hassle fitting a brake, but inside the fork there is a recessed shoulder.

Excuse the assembled by badgers look, just wanted to get some shots, and not risk scratching the seatpost for beanpoles (ie normal height people) collect manchester, or will meet say Brumish for petrol as I'm skint.

  • false advertising mate. Grun? it's blatantly Blau you chancer!

  • apart from that, pron.

    glws

  • cheers it's definitely a nice thing. too short, too many bikes... otherwise, you know the rest... lol!

  • Could get as far as Barnet... for you Londinium types, but the window would be a weekend and be quite tight time wise.

  • £575. Yes I know, tis a nice thing... Ten miles on the frame as it's a little too big for me. (saddle not shown in my dwarf setting)

  • hummunuh. £550. thats £50 less than the frame new (never mind import) for the whole flippin bike, and its done ten miles. The wheels are old school large flange Campag record on MA4o's with new conti gators for the click challenged. Chainsets an Andel (yawn, I know) and the stems a swanky Thomson 90mm X4. The saddles also new and regularly shift on the bay for a whopping £80. The frames an unusual alloy 40% more tensile strength than standard aluminium. And yes... thats candy flake blue.

  • super nice bike man, I know it's a faff but I'd part it out and float the frame on Ebay or Facebook track groups before slashing the price too much, as it's a fairly niche brand so you probably want a bigger audience and not many people ever want to buy a full build.

  • Yes you're right fella. I'll see if theres any bites at this price, and then part it out even though it's a massive fanny to do. I can't go lower, the welds are just beautiful.

  • Broadly speaking frame and thomson stem/seat clamp £350, wheels £180 with tyres. saddle £60 - rare as fook. Andel chainset £50 all plus postage at cost, apart from chainset where I'll throw that in. I'd need takers for the lot though. Half link chain (assuming I can find the other links) a tenner

  • Splitting this up next week, any interest peeps?
