• Have switched to a disk brake tourer so this is up for sale.

I really have no idea what this is worth so let's call it £50 for now. I will be happy to drop that but am sort of expecting that it won't sell on here and I'll have to face the horrors of eBay/Facebook.

(excuse the paint on my wall there)

It is located in Edinburgh (where I live...) but there are a few people up in Scotland on here so maybe one of them is interested. I don't think it's going to be economical to post such a cheap frame but I can look into it if anyone's interested.

Bought brand new by me in June 2015. Has been used as my commuter, generic road bike, rode it on a 100-mile sportive, even did some light touring on it and it held up great. I probably only did about 10,000 km on it as my commute is only a few km each way and I'm not much of an athlete, but the use is starting to show; chips in the paint abound, and there are plenty of scratches and other such things. But it's a beefy frame so structurally everything is perfectly fine.

    • size 57cm. I never found a geometry chart for this bike but it's very similar to the attached geometry for the Triban 500 (not SE).
    • carbon fork blades + alloy steerer - never cut this down so still got a big spacer stack. 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" tapered steerer.
    • mounts for full mudguards
    • it has rear rack mounts. I thought one of them was stripped but I just tried a bolt in both of them and it went in fine. It's possible that if you want to take 20kg on a rear rack you'll need a riv-nut sort of thing though.
    • clears a 700c x 25mm (on 17mm internal rims) with mudguards. Never tried anything wider but suspect it might be a real squeeze.
    • seatpost is weird size - 29.8mm - so the seat clamp and post are included. 1-bolt thing that I never had any problems with
    • headset included - seems fine to me, but I don't think I've never worn a headset out
    • you can have the spacers and top-cap if you want them
    • BB threads are perfectly fine

Weights of everything are as follows:

    • seat post: 334g
    • fork: 535g
    • frame, headset, seat clamp: 2037g

No lightweight for a proper road bike but I had it built up with 2x10 SRAM Rival/Apex and Fulcrum Racing 5s and I think it was somewhere in the 8-9kg range, which is respectable and certainly good enough for commuting and the sort of riding I do:

    Reviews are raving:

A hopefully-very-comprehensive album of pictures here - https://imgur.com/a/yOfjM - if you want a specific picture of something on the bike let me know.

I also have most of the original parts off this bike so if you're after the matching stem, bars, etc. I can add those on for a small amount of cash. And I also have a set of very long SKS Raceblades that are too narrow for my new tyres so they can also be sold with it.

  • Is the price sensible? Let me know what you think even if you've no interest in buying it.

  • Price is fine. For just £50 you get a frame and a carbon fork. I would have snatched this if it were my size.
