Hi,
been fiddling around with this bike over the winter months.
I've ridden it just under 60 miles and I've decided it's just not for me.
Not 100% sure what the frame is, but it seems pretty decent quality. The frame is 531cs and forks are 501. Possible Dawes, Coventry Eagle or a Raleigh?
Spec:
Frame: 54cm seat-tube (centre to top) and 57cm top-tube (centre to centre), Reynolds 531cs
Fork: Reynolds 501
Headset: Unbranded, with a quill adapter
Brakes: Shimano Deore LX
R/Mech: Shimano Tiagra
Cranks: Shimano 105
Bars: 42cm from Wiggle. Not sure which brand but seem pretty good!
Stem: 100mm deda stem
Pedals: no pedals included
Seatpost: Unbranded
Seat: WTB
Wheels: Mavic Open Pro on Ultegra 8sp hubs
Tyres: Impac Racepac
Brand new parts fitted 60 miles ago: gear and brake outer and inner, bar tape, handlebars, tyres, innertubes. Does not come with the chain photographed as this sadly broke, it was crap. Bike is chainless, see newest post for updated price.
Bad points:
. frame has a few scratches, plus a few very small rust patches.
. BB has play in it, could ideally do with a brand new sealed unit.
. no front mech. The one on this bike before was terrible, so I just used it single at the front
. front brake needs a mount for the outer cabling, these are under a fiver from memory
. comes with front mudguard (brand new) which I didn't fit as a lost a few of the fittings, but they are easy to get hold of.
I've spent a decent amount on this bike, but just lost interest for it and want something faster. Does £250 ONO posted seem fair?
