Modern seals don't dry out. Oil leak in that area says gearbox if it is from the drive shaft. Keep a eye on the gearbox fluid level, if you can, as going low will fuck the gearbox.
Where is the oil leak from? (Trace is a pain, stick a clean cardboard under the car, oil will leak on to the cardboard so get an idea where the leak is from so easier to start a trace) Is it the correct boot? Has the boot been fitted correctly? Has the boot failed?
Has the correct gearbox oil/fluid been used?
Finally got the drive shaft fixed on my shit-type but now it's developed an oil leak even though it's only been driven once since Christmas. That's weird right? it was fine when I left it
