  • If there's sleeping available I'd use it. Lightweight bivvying sucks, particularly in the UK when it's getting down towards or below 0degC at night.

  • I was only using the bivvy stuff to test kit out for racing. After a couple of freezing nosleeps I got better at location picking, used a warmer bivvy and invested in a sleep pad. So I have a range of options now depending on expected conditions. I'd still much prefer indoors on something soft though. I don't give a shit about going to sleep under the stars :)
