Bit of a niche moan isn't it...
"fuck shimano and their use of ABS in the cable lead guide cover on their r785 shifter bodies, I'll never use them AGAIN!"
;)

Amey lives for a niche

No, it's the lever throw on those shifters that's the issue.
-

The opposite problem. I have quite big hands, the problem is the levers are almost at the bars before the fucking brakes engage. With worn pads they are at the bars. Shimano using Garmin's user beta testing release process.

how much for this on t shirt?

lever throw struggle is real, I have R8070 groupset sitting in ocado bags waiting for a frame.
-
• #2959
I'll have it. You don't need it.

those bags are worth 5p each
-

You can keep the bags. Just hand over everything else and your avocado won't get harmed.

Over fill. Bleed as per instructions, then refit bleed cup bolt at lever, open bleed port at caliper, push more fluid into the now sealed system. Close bleed port nut whilst maintaining pressure, and you have proper throw on the lever. Needs properly faced mounts as the pads are closer, but works a treat.

It's been bled and overfilled. It's been bled to the point where I have to hammer the disc in between new pads and a few other combos of 'tricks'. You're more than welcome to have a go at the fucking things.

Apologies if this is already here somewhere but what replacement pads are people using on Shimano r785 calipers? Mine are wearing out and the internet is full of conflicting info...
-
• #2965
Best bet is to look at the shimano pdfs
For these post mount brakes the finned shimano pads are J04C
I recommend the uberbikes ones as you can replace the pads and keep using the fins

Or massive user error.

I'm not the only one doing the bleeding though. It's had three or four people have a crack at this, at least two of them actual mechanics.

Anyone seen an FSA WE groupset in the wild yet?

Re grommets for Di2, have you tried a hardware store?
I live in Canada, I got generic grommets at Home Depot that fit fine for about 25 cents each. -

thanks, I'll have a look the next time I'm in one

Another one from me. The standard pads are Shimano G02A. Fibrax sell OEM ones pretty cheap and I know Hub Velo in Clapton sell them and the Shimano ones.
