  • Did what fix what?

My bike is clean, well it was until riding in the rain yesterday morning, and the problem is there. It clearly needs adjustment, hence why I asked if anyone had a good guide.

I guess I should know better than to ask a sensible question on lfgss and expect a straightforward answer.

  • It’s usually the limit screws on the outside of the mechanism - have a close look at how they affect the mechanism, you want a hairs width of daylight on either side of the jockey wheel when looking from in front/behind, in both gears. If it’s not the limit screws then undo the grub screw on the gear cable and feed a little more cable in.

Also make sure the jockey wheels are sliding back and forth freely, had one the other day that had been packed with grit and cut a groove that was preventing it from sliding.
