rad schwinn! you got a major bargain right there.
why not build them both up and keep the one you prefer?

Schwinning! Sick beater frame

tempting - if the GT fits then yes, if not I'll flip it and transfer the parts over to Dr. Schwinn

yeh man i love it - kinda wish the original forks came with it tho (see pic)
here's some alternative inspiration though... :)

UPDATE #4
So I've admitted that the GT frame is just too big for me, ah well!
That means that the Palomar frame and gorgeous Thorn Raven forks are up for sale - here
I'm quite happy to be building up the Schwinn though, it really is quite something in the black chrome paint (or 'Dark Pearl' as I think it was originally known...) - and at 18 quid with titanium orange forks i really can't complain :)
I've been pretty busy with it over the weekend and it's nearly done - my LBS are sorting some final bits out on it for me today while I'm at work, and then it should be ready to ride and tweak to perfection!!
This is what it was looking like on Saturday:

Fillet brazing is right nice. Is it a 1" or 1 1/8" head tube?
-

it's 1", that's the only reason your forks aren't all up in that - would've looked sick as well!

Was gonna say! Foiled

Just bar tape to go now - and Gilles Berthoud fenders if they fit!
Thinking of sticking a black brooks on there, and a black seatpost too...

Bargain money’s for the Schwinn, looks ace. I would go with black brooks and seat post.

Brooks and black seat post arrived today, bar tape too :)
I can't even begin to describe how fun this bike is to ride!

UPDATE #3
So I pulled the trigger on the Paul SRAM trigger mount :)
Most expensive piece of metal I've ever bought, but I think it's going to be a defining feature of this build - I hope...
At least I found it for £40 at SJS instead of coughing up the £58.70 that BLB charge - wtf?!
I also got a set of brand new 3x9 SRAM X7 shifters (removable band version) for a very fair £35 off the bay...
Black On-One Midge bars are on the way, as is the Velo Orange Cigne stem (also black) that I scored on eBay for a measly £23 - that saved me some dough right there :)
I am worrying that the frame may be slightly big for me - so in case it is I picked up a super cool back up frame.
A Schwinn High Sierra with titanium Orange forks + random bits for £18.60 :)))
