'Podium Girls' in pro cycling...

It looks like the TdF might be leaving the dark ages:

The Tour de France could be the latest major cycling race to end the tradition of podium girls, following the lead of the Vuelta a Espana.

It looks like the Giro wants to lurk there for a little bit longer yet:

Giro race director Mauro Vegni comment[ed] that he saw this call for their removal as a 'temporary trend'.

'As long as those girls are treated with respect...'

(I think that's all you need of the latter quote).
