Thanks, it was taken from inside my hallway. Just found the front door open and it missing about 30 mins ago. Not sure if a flat mate left it open or if someone broke in.

Ok, so this the Official thread for Stolen bikes... have already posted but let me do so again here ... as am recovering from the numbness and in some aspect morning the loss of a beloved GF :-(
... but my fantasy of catching a bike thief in "flagrant delit" nicking someone's cherished bike is bordering into Texas chainsaw scenes, where fingers are quite simply snapped off for good ;-)
Stolen from lower Sloane Street - Friday / Saturday 3 March 2018
Posted - https://stolen-bikes.co.uk/stolen-bikes/planet-x-carbon-pro/
Been looking at ebay, preloved, onceridden, gumtree, freeads, shpock, loot ...

out of nosy curiousity, what's your tactic? given the short time it's been stolen would it be safe to say that the person selling it on ebay is either responsible for or at least aware that it's stolen?

Personally I would try to negotiate a price for cash on collection, call the local Police and see if they will send someone with you to collect.

Maybe contact ebay to get his address if possible too.

Cool - let us know what happens

Agree with @mustardbeak - arrange to pay/collect and then inform the police. If you contact the police before you arrange the sale I think it becomes more difficult to catch the guy because it's entrapment or something.

Looking at all the description for the bikes he sold in the past and the current ones it’s pretty obvious that he has no idea about bikes...someone who know nothing about bike but owns a moulton Is highly suspicious. . The review he got from that moulton sell is negative saying ’seller difficult would not recommend’

@ProLite_Menaggio your chance mate get it back.
-
• #13745
Um. Perhaps the previous posts could be deleted - on the off chance that the thief comes across this. News with an outcome would be good.

When my Brooks got nicked and I found it on ebay, I won it back and got as much info as possible to give the police. They will be slow, but they did at least do something. Paypal refunded me, mostly out of goodwill. Probably won't for a >£800 bike but you never know.
Best thing is to go to the police station (there's one in Belgravia) in person and insist on speaking to someone.Check they haven't used the same username on other services too.

As earlier poster has mentioned, because this has surfaced so quickly after being stolen, the police ought to be very interested in nabbing the villain, as he's probably part of the local crime wave, and them solving this crime might also tick off a few more unsolveds too.

Did you get it back?
That sucks man. Such a nice build. Where / how was it taken from?
Will keep a eye out at the Deptford market this morning should it have made it South of the river.
