  • Fixed it. 75 seat tube rather than 73. Might mean longer stem or setback seat post depending how she likes it.

I do like it when seat tube and head tube are same angle, but what can you do?!

  • Top tube and stem the same angle? Visually nicer in my opinion

  • bend in seattube?

    (.... had to say it)

  • ^ pls

  • Well no, It would make sense, but she likes it classic. Sloping top tube to some persuading.

  • Cut out then...

  • You just increased the reach. 20 mm more seat post set back means the top tube should be 20 mm shorter to give the same position...

  • No, you are not right.
Let me rephrase: Yes but she has no pref in terms of bike fit. this just means she will sit further over bb which will be fine.

For me stack and reach are not important. I never used bike cad and I have never bought a new frame and had the measurements as ref for other bikes. I am looking at the relationship between your position of the saddle and bars. And for Kirstine (my partner) I'd like her to get the same experience as I have with my bikes: sitting quite forward over the bb and having a long stem, steep head tube and low trail.

I am not sure if you can read numbers on this screen shot, but reach is as you say 20mm longer but I am looking at where her stem is in relation to where the saddle will be mounted.

  • Reach to the bars will be a bit less from the saddle though. Hence why setback post or longer stem

  • <3 yes.

Just took me some time to write edit^

  • No. Wheel base is 930. It is just not needed. Also, I don't make jewelry!

  • I don't make jewelry!

U sure? That ^ bike's small enough for me to wear as a bracelet....

  • Mah .

This is where I got tonight.

26" 32mm tires should be about same outer size as 650c 25 so could look like this with burlier wheels

  • Yeah. That's sumo/Emma's right?

  • yes!

  • Cool projecto, #26aintdead

  • The amount of frame building you're doing these days is very exciting. Smaller wheels for smaller people is just so right!

  • Yes. After a couple of years not building it is nice doing it again. I should probably be doing other things tho :)
But on the other hand I am fortunate enough to have access to sick machines right now and working with Stayer Cycles have given me a lot of confidence.

  • Got my new bars for my mtb. Genetic digest 480mm. They measure 620 CTC and the bottom of drops.

  • And I popped a headset in the rando bike.
There is still a lot of work to be done, but it should be a fun bike.

  • Is that the one with the cracked seat tube? I assume you're going to replace it if so?

  • Some inspiration.
