I used some Montana gloss lacquer and it hasn't exactly stood the test of time. It probably wasn't a good coat.
I think with patience, proper technique, and decent setup/materials you could achieve a really good result. I gave up lacquering because I found it difficult to achieve an even finish. Probably because I was doing it outside with 20-25 km/h wind.
Back to the original problem, presumably air is getting into the aerosol flow which would suggest you haven't shaken it enough or there's an obstruction in the nozzle. I shook it for 5-7 minutes pretty vigorously. Ooo er, etc.

Think I've decided to blast it and get it powdercoated. Question is where. I know someone got some paint done in St. Albans somewhere...
The question is colour.
I like the blues/purple...of this Jamis Dragonslayer and the blue/purple of the swift.
