  • The cats are not mine. Long very complicated story. The shortened points: Went to two different cat shelters. Wouldn't be offered a kitten or young cat. I wanted to get an older cat one that was to be kept inside. So she ended up buying two 8 week old tabbies (brother and sister) from a family in colchester. We live in north London. When coming back, I set down a set of cat care rules. Number of litter trays, where we would put water around the, kind of water, toys, food and treats. Scratching posts and where they would sleep, injections etc.

What has happened is that I had to arrange the injections, wanted to give them a week to settle in. After 5 weeks I ended up booking them in to a vets as she did not have time to do it. Once again not my cats, I am not listed as the owner with the vet. Whilst at this meeting vet talked about chipping both the cats when they were neutered. I wanted to book then but once again she said she would as they are her cats. Mention neutering a few times but get fobbed off. Boy cat gets older and starts humping sister. Sister is not happy. Litter tray start smelling of boy cat. I say he needs to be done, nothing happens for 3 days. So I organise him to be neutered. Massive argument as I am taking away choice for her. Boy has undescended ball so gets a few cuts on his tummy. Boy doesn't like bland diet of steamed chicken or fish with rice. So doesn't eat for a day (i wasn't here) seems a bit lethargic. He is not taking his pain meds as she is incapable of syringing liquid in to his mouth. So back to the vet. Pain shot and come back in 24hours. Pain shot means he is back to he usually jumpy self. She takes cone off as he doesn't like it. Then can't catching him to put it back on. He licks stitches and starts to bleed. So re install collar (it is a posh material one) clean wounds. Few hours later cone is off.Think it is him removing it, it is not it is her.

She seem to like having a ficcus plant in the house. The cats chew plastic, cardboard and anything else. Ficcus plants are poisonous to cats. Cats has been ill (poisened) from eating the plant. THREE trips to the vet for this, £300 a time for shots and blood tests. I throw plant away, plant comes back. Massive arguement about throwing her stuff away and as a retaliation she throws away my wireless keyboard and mouse to my mac.

Last night I had the joy of taking cat to the vet as it was the second time boy cat has been ill. Similar symptoms to last time, this time cost alot more for an emergency hospital visit. Which I paid and now am skint. Skint bit is annoying, seeing a poor kitten sick and you know what was responsible. How do you come to terms with that?

  • I agree but doesn't work that way.

  • No my first thought is to get them out of the situation, but that has proved difficult.

So what is your answer? Wait for them to die of neglect, and or poisoned?

  • Yet kill the fucking idiot human.

After that post, in the morning, the police arrived as I got all shouty with her about why the plant is back in the flat. It was 'cos of the snow. So plant is worth more to her than poisoning the cats.

For the charities to do something the cats have to show signs of neglect. I cannot, in all good conscience, allow the cats to be treated badly. So I move my life around so that I make sure the cats are fed and litter cleaned.

Also only leaving wet food out for about half an hour, then putting the plate in the fridge. Covered with cling film so not to get fridge burn. Seems alright to leave the cat food out for hours till it looks awful and the cats won't touch it.

  • Wtf who is this person to you?

  • Is she the home owner, or a tenant. Are animals alowed in the building/within the lease terms?

  • If you are able to take the cats to the VET, why are you not able to take them to a shelter? Surely this is better than putting them down?

  • surely taking the cats and giving them to someone else is just as easy as taking them away to be killed?

  • Supposed girlfriend.

  • She owns the flat.

  • Cats are chipped, she is the registered owner. Cats would be returned to her, or signed over. This what I was told by the woodgreen cat shelter as they are not strays. So she has to sign over.

  • Chipped cats, she is registered as the owner mean that I can be prosecuted for theft.

I am afraid that the cats will die by poisening if I'm not here. Don't want them to die, especially in a painful way. Getting them put down (killed is the word I should use) I don't know what to do nor am I thinking logically.

  • Chipped cats, she is registered as the owner mean that I can be prosecuted for theft.

So you want to take them away and kill them. You two deserve each other. Those poor cats deserve neither of you.

  • Report to the RSPCA then

  • Right, she sounds like a full on idiot of thickest order or Is she mentaly ill, honest question not loaded in any way.
Tell her you will report to rspca and they will be taken away unless she abides by your rules.

Do you have friends who can take the cats, foster carers ?
If the cats are friendly and house trained they should be rehomed.

  • WTF is going on here?!

  • @Howard It would appear that Lynx wants to kill his girlfriends cats, and is telling us about it.

  • Reported to the RSPCA, spoke to them today. It is her word against mine as to what happened with the cats being ill.

  • I do not know what to do. One thing is for sure I don't want them to suffer and die of poisoning. Given the choice what would you do?

EDIT the police have attended and left. I have contacted and spoken to the RSPCA and woodgreen cat shelter.

  • Yeah and your track record with James shows the kind of person you are.

  • The cats are beautiful, house trained and loving. The problem is the owner. Am trying my best to make sure that they are fed and have access to clean water in multiple places. When I am not there it doesn't happen. I know that because when I return all the drinking bowls (usually gu pots or other desert dishes) are gone and there is just one by the food.

  • A) Fuck you, you cunt

  • ^Taken whilst posting, I'll add.

  • Yeah, shall we note how James felt when you introduced lots of other cats in to his environment? Look through and what you wrote. Shows the kind of person you are. Go back re read and edit.

I am in a very difficult place with these cats. But hey choice of walk away and wait to see if they die of being poisoned. I got the chance to spent a long night with a cat dry heaving and yowling in fucking pain because of someone who knows better than everyone else. Actually you two should get together as your animal treatment has a very similar style.
