It’s on the Bristol to Bath cycle path. It’s a tunnel that goes underneath a high street near my house.

Buggered off home early as a way of congratulating a long week of actually making it at all. Love some cheapo knobblies.

All the snow seems to have gone this morning (in Leeds anyway)! Best this way I think, rather than having to endure days of slush.
Did manage to forget my normal shoes though, road cleats in the office today.

Pissing rain, so things are back to normal. Yay! ;)

Ooh those snow tyres I'd been meaning to get for Years are going to arrive now. Ah well.

Riding in this morning with everything back to normal and the commute being it's usual shitshow had me secretly wishing for snow again.

I miss the snow.

I've stuck mine on a dodgy old wheelset I had in the cupboard, next time I need them I won't have to faff around as much swapping tyres over.
managed a couple of short rides on them before the thaw, not sure i'd be up for actually commuting 11 miles each way on them after some consideration though.

Yeah it's always gonna be a calorie burner. Which tyres did you get? The Schwalbe?
-
• #21587
had the schwalbe since about 2012/13 when I wasn't even a fixie skidder yet and just got a cyclocross bike as my first commuter. one of them blew a bead when I put them on last week so had to order a replacement. arrived with a day or two of snow left but when I wasn't in the office.

Turned all the 'clever' shit on my Garmin for some LOLs.
My commute in this morning requires 17hrs recovery apparently.
Guess I'm staying in the office tonight.

I had a nightmare of a commute this morning.
Borrowing a KlicknFix and BigXTop bar bag to try out for commuting.
First issue, I didn't install the KlicknFix properly so after the first bump it swung down so the bag hit the mudguard.
Then the main support bar in the BigXTop bag snapped clean in half so now the bag couldn't even stay attached.
Then I noticed as a result of the bag resting on the mudguard causing rubbing on the front tyre, the anchovy in the tubeless tyre had loosened/partially escaped, causing a constant flapping and risk of sudden deflation.
Then I remembered I hadn't properly inflated the tyre anyway.
Then to top it off I realised I hadn't re-indexed after fitting new wheels so I only had use of about 3 gears.
Finished my commute with the bar bag stuffed into a tote bag which I wore like a musette except it was trying to strangle me.

First commute in over a year due to elbow shenanigans. 12 miles. Elbow fine. Everything else hurts.

Where is that? Fantastic! doh. Read back. I've cycled that route often. Didn't recognise.

Sounds like a perfect outcome!

Yay! All over pain is best pain.

Have you considered cycle training?

• #21595
I am distracting myself with death spicy burrito pain. A good pain.
