How bad would it be to get a pair of healthy kittens put to sleep (euthanised) if you knew the person left looking after them would/does neglect them?

You see a couple of kittens being treated badly and your first thought is to have them killed? What is wrong with you?

No my first thought is to get them out of the situation, but that has proved difficult.

So what is your answer? Wait for them to die of neglect, and or poisoned?
