  • Yes. Lol.

  • It’s not got a replaceable seatpost though

  • It's a Trek. What could be more replaceable than that.

  • They look good alright but they spec is pretty low on the only model available so far

  • Both alloy and carbon frames have sliding dropouts and adjustabobbles. Oooof. Wonder if they'll sell frame-only.

  • I have ridden one with a front suspension, it threw me back into the day of 26” wheels MTB, cause it’s so much more fun in tight single track.

The rigid one look awesome and remind me of my old £200 Diamondbacks that I sadly sold.

  • So true.

I've enquired about frame only options, hope to hear soon.

  • Do you enjoy the Jamis? If yes, go for it.

  • Think I’m gonna go for a Bish Bash Bosh for the mini gravel girlfriend commuter.
This one looks like the XS. I like it but would want to repaint.

  • They do sell framesets

    Cheers.

An rrp of £800 for the basic frameset is a bit disappointing tbh.

  • Anyone got a pair of challenge 33c either almanzo or G Grindrs they didn’t get on with / looking to shift?

  • I do, or I certainly did. Not exactly nimble though.

Head tube and seat tube angles only differ by one degree Aurora vs Pyrolite. Can that really make a significant real world difference?

  • That's just a great bike.

  • It does, however fitting 650b wheels will make it handle slightly lighter, best thing to do is simply order the Pinnacle in and ask for a 48hr test ride, which is the best thing you can do it decide which option work for you.

  • In developing the new Checkpoint, Trek identified typical users of gravel and adventure bikes, from someone who rides gravel to escape traffic and appreciates the versatility, to cyclists not interested in road bikes (mountain bikers, mainly) and the new breed of “ultra-endurance” cyclists flocking to events like the Transcontinental Race. And what Trek has developed is a bike that looks to take into account the many different applications that gravel bikes are being used for, from commuting and touring to short distance gravel rides and multi-day all-terrain epics, with a versatile and adaptable bike.

Who exactly is going to do TCR on a topper?

Pleased to see the aluminium ones have normal posts by the look of it

  • A full bike at £1450 with RS405 hydraulic and still have that sliding drop out is pretty awesome (and standard 27.2 seatpost on top).

  • Who exactly .... normal posts .... standard

Your posts are not to standard

  • Do EC offer 48 hour test rides now? :o

  • Not to steal Ed's thunder but it's a ~£50 deposit which you can redeem against a bike if you take it. If not you're just renting a bike for two days for £50 which is what you'd pay at a bike rental place.

I presume that if you get the wrong size or want to try a different bike you don't have to pay the £50 again but I'm not sure.
