Not to steal Ed's thunder but it's a ~£50 deposit which you can redeem against a bike if you take it. If not you're just renting a bike for two days for £50 which is what you'd pay at a bike rental place.
I presume that if you get the wrong size or want to try a different bike you don't have to pay the £50 again but I'm not sure.

It does, however fitting 650b wheels will make it handle slightly lighter, best thing to do is simply order the Pinnacle in and ask for a 48hr test ride, which is the best thing you can do it decide which option work for you.
