  • ceiling fans!

  • Are something I will be checking for when we look for a new place in the next couple of weeks...

  • ceiling fans!

Are there many of those around? I mean, ceilings are just ceilings, rather boring and you don't look at them that much. Then again, I suppose anything can become a fetish.

  • All I’m saying is...

  • Went for a loop of the bay yesterday. I overslept so basically had to TT he first 120km into a stiff headwind to catch the last ferry. Then I followed a cool, semi-gravel trail to Geelong where I then linked up with the IPWR course and followed it back into and through Melbourne.

Pretty beautiful ride although half of it was in the dark. Good to have some memory of tricky turns in the course under my belt. Also barely ate. Didn’t have any calories apart from a Coke until about 220km in - which was four portions of McDonald’s fries lol.

  • You're a champ! So is this instead of the ride to Adelaide? What's the timeline for you from here on?

  • Riding to Adelaide tomorrow (24 hours rest lol). Gonna see how it goes...

  • This is my overall timeline as it stands for Aus. The later the dates, the more flexible they are (apart from return flight).

    Melbourne 22nd - 27th Feb.
    Riding to Adelaide.
    Adelaide 1st Mar - 10th Mar.
    Perth 10th - 17th Mar.
Riding to Sydney via Nullarbor, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra.
Estimated arrival in Sydney 5th April.
    Sydney 6th - 13th Apr.
    Riding to GC / Brisbane.
    GC / Brisbane 16th - 23rd Apr.
Not sure what to do 24th Apr - 7th May
Flying home from Melbourne 8th May.

  • When you're in Adelaide get in touch ... PM with details sent.

  • Do many people do ultras with carbon brake tracks? Just wondering

  • There were a few before disc brakes took over the world

  • Mike Hall last year?

  • I want this much time off.

  • It's Australia. You can ride 4500k without having to touch a brake.

  • I've not seen any

  • Gonna have a quick nap then set off on this ~800km to Adelaide. Aiming for 40-48 hours elapsed. Elevation doesn’t look too bad. A couple of hundred metres up to Ballarat then gradually losing that height for the next ~600km with a few minor bumps along the way before another ~400m climb up and over into Adelaide. Should be pretty sweet!

  • No bar tape.. hmm

  • One would assume he got that sorted before he started lol

  • Thanks, I was wrong.
Indypac not hilly so no reason why not

  • Veganjoseph just made it into south australia

  • He's not doing the indypac route - I thought he might have wanted a reccy!

  • Just smashed out Melbourne to Adelaide in one swoop. 820km, 50 hours elapsed, 36 moving, 1 hour total of naps. Never pushed myself that far. Absolute brutality. Glad IPWR won’t be like that lol.

Any questions? Happy to answer anything. Wouldn’t really know where to start with a ride breakdown.
