Compressionless outers still perform better with cantis and road calipers right? Why are they not as common with those sorts of brakes?
-
• #89629
More flex in caliper arms than in disc brakes and I think also more compression in the pad material themselves means that it has a far less noticeable effect I would guess

Because expensive cables are hard to sell to consumers
-

Probably

Probably because you don't need it to make the brakes perform acceptably.
High end groups come with high quality outer that's kinda compressionless.

Thanks - where are you? If it's easy I'll take a few if you don't mind.

Compressionless has been used by BMX riders and also by polo players for quite some time now...

Hey,
I've just installed shimano xt m8000 brakes on my mountain bike. One works perfectly the other is not touching the rotor even when I pull the lever.
I've tried adjusting the free stroke but that hasn't worked.
Any help appreciated.

Sounds like it's not bled properly.
-
• #89639
Yeah? So if I re bleed it properly it'll push the pistons out further.
It is second hand...

Cheers - might be a slight pain to get to you, but I'll keep it in mind. Appreciate it.
