I can't decide weather to go for 40mm Schwalbe G-one or 43mm Panaracer Gravelking SK for my gavelbike.

Easy. One of each.

Any suggestions for 26" mixed terrain tyres? Looking for something similar to the terrene elwood that I'm using on my bike.

Can't really go wrong with Conti Race Kings. Evans have the 2-inch folder for £27.

Bastard Continentals... Against better judgement I recently fitted a set of gp4000 700x25 to my wheels. Fit fine, work in the tight clearance BMC... Until now. They have stretched a good 3 mm in height and width and now foul on my fork and rear brake bridge. They were only inflated to 85 psi!

Most good tyres stretch.

I put my Hyper 32 back on and picked up a large blade of flint on the weekend. I can't remember how many miles I'd put into this tyre on the old bike though so it could be more worn than I thought. I'll leave them on for now.

There's a 40mm? Uh oh...

Depends where you live, what you ride on, how you ride, how far you ride and probably another 200 variables. But, it doesn't matter now anyway because you've just highlighted yourself to the p_nct_re fairy. She will catch up...

Marathon Supreme vs. Vittoria Hyper?
I see there's Hypers in 38mm for £20 at PX. They've gotta be worth a punt for my Tripster yeah?

Having got 5,300 miles and zero flats out of my current pair of Marathon Supremes, I thought a straight replacement would be a no-brainer. But I see the 35mm Hypers are just £15, so you've got me thinking now! Anyone have long term experience of both?

I used some 35mm Hypers on my tour of Iceland last year. They were most excellent. The only downside was that in a fit of cautiousness I took along a spare tyre, which I never used and was therefore pointless. They even handled some offroading with aplomb.
Never tried the Marathon Supremes though.

Also, what's the practical difference between these two:
42-622 (28 x 1.60, 700x40C) MicroSkin, TL Easy, E-25 OneStar Black-Reflex
42-622 (28 x 1.60, 700x40C) V-Guard, E-25 OneStar Black-Reflex -

The 40s are £27 so there's not a huge price difference. Maybe I should try the Supremes then I can compare with the Hypers I've had.

Microskin ftw. V-Guard has thicker sidewalls/extra protection/less suppleness/not tubeless compatible
-
• #5418
If I'm after more durability though? It's just going onto a training/audax bike.
-
• #5419
In that case the V-Guard might be better suited to your needs. In my experience the Microskins lasted for about 7-8k, could probably stretch to a bit further, size 559-50 tho
-
• #5420
V-Guard on the back, Microskin on the front :)
-
• #5421
Ah, I'll be after the 32c, so the price differential goes the other way. But I'll probably stick with the Supremes given the experience I've had.

I used 38c hypers in my commuter. Fast, durable, comfortable and all for £15 each.

You’re looking lean there.
Looking for gum / tan wall rubber to fit my 29er. What's out apart from Ardents? Ideally 1.9 to 2.2 max
