• Toe clipped goodness

  • Woah! Thanks, nope this ride is gone threadless, previous owner ditched original threaded fork.

You posted your Trek on the retro MTB thread?

  • We rather like our old steel bikes in central Denver. I mean, anyone with no taste and a decent-sized paycheck can walk into a Performance bike shop and drop a couple grand on a brand-new, light and fast road bike. But it takes a cultivated palate to drag some 20-year-old piece of shit out of someone’s garage, or a thrift store basement, and turn it into something really special.

Even if that “something really special” is just kind of still a piece of shit with updated components.

    Exactly

  • Sorry. The adjustable stem. I bought it for rehab but never needed it. Was going to use it on a bike for J when she was pregnant, but she stopped riding much sooner.

  • Doh uh

    I get it!

    Slow day snow day

Yeah I would buy you a beer for that dude, please.

  • Cool. Let me know when you are around.

  • Stayer Cycles Snot Rocket. I have designed the dropouts and this the first time they have been used. Quite excited to see how they hold up.
I am yet to machine the little brass adjusters for the m4 screw tensioners.
700c X 2.1" tyres in the photo but it will take more further back in the dropouts I reckon.

  • What a beaut'!

  • Can we see the NDS rocker dropouts please

  • Err..this is all kinds of awesome!

  • That's fantastic.

  • Really, really nice. Would love some more detail shots of the yoke.

  • Love it

  • Ta guys. It is Sam's own bike and his photos. We are at SSCXEC and he is riding it tomorrow. I'll see if I can get some photos of it then.
It is a yoke. Stays are Columbus Zona mtb s bend with a cut out to fit the chain ring but keep a short wheel base.

  • All the yep.

  • So what's the situation with the dropout? Is the idea that when you're using a derailleur you have the shortest possible (effective) chainstays? Or will it work with the wheel wherever you like on the slider?

Edit: goes without saying that it looks great!

  • Well, the idea was to do the dropout SS only. But then Sam asked me to give it a gear tab for his bike as he will likely run gears for longer bike packing rides.
It is very similar to the surly dropouts that it will have a fixed position for gears. We will provide these with two lengths of bolts. The sorter set will be for gears.

  • So on trend

  • Does anyone knows anything about breezer bikes? Tempted to get one of these for touring and some offroad.

  • Joe Breeze is one of the founding fathers of mountain biking. He's been there since day one.
Although I'm sure nowadays his bikes are similar to most other mass produced bikes... But there's certainly no denying his heritage.

  • Yum.

  • Haven't tried it but it looks like a lot of bike for the money.
