I inherited a set of tubeless disc wheels on a new bike recently and am having trouble keeping air in the front. It sounds like air is escaping from the valve hole. I've checked the tape and all seems fine, I've checked the valve and that seems okay, i've tried inflating with a track pump and CO2. Nothing seems to work.
Any other tips?Or do I just order a new set of IRC's? If so, which ones? I like the sound of the road lites. How do these compare to 4000s ?

Put another layer of rim tape and make sure valve hole through tape is tiny before pushing valve through. Make sure valve is seated in rim properly

New/more Tim tape at a guess.

Ok, will do.

I seated some WTB Horizons on WTB ST rims but I've had trouble unseating them. They were on so tight/stuck fast that I've had to use a bench vice to unseat them. I wouldn't be able to unseat them if I was out and about as it required a lot of force and leverage.
Does this mean this tyre rim combo is a no go or is there something I can do? I didn't put diluted washing up liquid on when seating them. The popped on first time.

tubeless 23s!?

Do some core training, they're supposed to be like that, you don't want your tires burping or coming off the wheel

I've also had that problem, they're a very tight fit, I used a wide but thin lever to to work round the rim, then pop it off in to the middle, no bench vices in the middle of Epping Forrest that I'm aware of.

Tried seating the tyre with an inner tube. Didn't help.
Thinking of investing in air blasting gadget. cO2 or one of those air blaster pumps; which is best?

I had issue with the same rim and tyre, almost felt like giving up .. but then it worked after I put some sealant in and rolled the tyre so the beads are coated. Then the obvious stuff like no bubbles on tape, smallest possible valve hole etc.

Very much this

Thanks both, will try that.
After my first attempt (with marathon TLEs), I went off putting sealant in pre - inflation as it ended up everywhere, but will try with a small amount.

The bonty one is good if you can ignore the crappy plastic head (or replace it with a quality one)
-
• #1946
The bonty one is ok until the attachment between hose and the pump breaks.

Bugger - what happened? Did it just wear out? Hose failure or the actual pump casing? Repairable?

Snapped and when I tried to replace part was unavailable and gave up waiting and bought one of the air shock bottles

Allegedly part should be available.

Hmmm OK I'll look out for that. The hose and head seemed to be weak compared to the rest.
Coz 'murkha first brah!
