• I still ride mine a lot. My only criticism which of course doesn’t apply to yours is the quill stem has a fair bit of flex to it. The C40 has a quill adapter which although adds a bit of weight really stiffens up the front which I hope will really make a difference when pulling heavily on the hoods cranking up hills (my favourite pastime).
    I considered swapping out the precise fork for a star with an aheadset but think it’s going to be OK as it is.

  • Those quill stems give some flex, true. Most of my rides are on hilly terrain too (the typical short but steep bumps here in Flanders) and an oversized stem feels more secure. ;) I had the Precisa fork of mine lengthened (new steerer tube) for this reason but I like the looks of the carbon forks more, tbh.

    You could solve the problem by changing the stem for a steel ITM Eclypse. I have on of those on my Carrera and it's lot less flexy.
