There is no point even trying to explain to you my reasoning for not being able to post out the items but I certainly did not take your money and 'Run'.
I Hope you get your refund from Paypal soon and I apologise for the inconvenience caused. If I was trying to 'scam' other users which there is no room for on this forum I would have been posting items of significance not my own personal used items that I wanted to sell.
If you would like to ban me then go ahead as it is out of my control, just know that it was not my intention to hold off posting the items for so long.Again, apologies and I hope you find the parts you are looking for with smooth transactions.

You might want to explain a bit more.

Disagree.

Or you know, you could refund him right now.
Or provide proof of postage.
Or explain yourself.

My reason for listing my used bike parts was to make money to pay my Rent, naturally I accepted the money and packaged up the items with intent to post as soon as possible. Things with my rent situation and bills got worse leading to them taking out any money they could from my account leaving me broke with only a shitty paying part time job to even fund anything. My card got declined with multiple items at the post office. I understand I should have clearly communicated the issue with the buyers but there was the element of embarrassment and in hindsight If it was me who was buying an item I would feel the same. I hope this answered the question. If I am to make a listing to sell parts in the future I will be sure to provide proof of postage and make sure I have the money avaliable to post the items out. Lesson Learned.

Someone who's having money troubles > someone who's a scammer.
-
• #4758
I don't understand what you mean, are you insinuating I have intentionally scammed due to my money troubles or someone who is having money troubles is (>) more/better than someone who is a scammer?
I have explained my situation as clearly as I can here, with being embarrassed about my money situation. If you would still like to ban me then I am not sure what else I can say to persuade you not to.
-
• #4760
Sorry, I meant that I’d hold someone who was just having money issues in far higher regard than I’d hold a scammer.
Being a scammer would be something to be ashamed of but I think most people struggle with money at some points so i don’t think it’s something to be embarrassed about.
-
• #4761
It’s a crap situation to be in, you I shouldn’t feel embarrassed, especially if things are out of your control. I’m happy to contribute towards postage.

Thanks for being understanding guys. Its one of those situations where its just gotten worse as the time went on and paypal cases have been opened and its not what I wanted. The buyers have their money back now apart from Wadi2 but the case is on the last day and taken out of my paypal balance. I'll certainly make sure When I am to sell in the future that I can post on the same day or if not the day after to avoid things escalating

Sorry to hear of your troubles - I can see both sides and certainly, without prejudice to you, sympathise with those who haven't got what they bought in good faith. I suppose the important thing is those items aren't sold again (to restore ying and yang perhaps once all get their money back they could be re-offered to them as a gift with a personal donation upon receipt of goods?)
Good luck -

Parcelforce terrible service!
Hi,
Apologies for this but I am running out of options, and hair to pull out of my head.
It is now going on to the 5th day I have been promised collection of a bike I sold. Despite online help, many phonecalls to the depot, assurances from the driver that he is “around the corner” nobody has arrived.
I am at the end of my tether and have took to facebook and twitter to vent.
If you are bored and have a spare minute, please go to
https://twitter.com/parcelforce?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor
And ask why they won’t collect from me!

can you not drop off at their depot?, had the same prob with My Hermes and went with Parcel force in the end delivered to destination 48hrs later,

Damm i am part of the scam just realized now ,god damm i went out of london for a month never get the riser rental bar t@thevvitch was selling does anyone know anything about .he hasn't replied pm

Chooyuhudson's one of the sociopathic bike buyers/sellers in the UK, chances are if you sell anything remotely nice on any forum he'll email you a terse lowball offer of about half its value-pretty sure he was banned from here. I think it's fair to say he's made a reputation for himself anyway...
-
• #4771
Terse low ball offer you say? Have just been dealing with one in particular.
Have noticed one particular forum buyer who has a habit of listing multiple ‘nice’ things, claiming he rides them. Caught him a couple of times selling on other markets.
When I listed a couple of frames, immediately got a DM with a lowball offer.
Doesn’t sound all too above board. Won’t name them because I’m not sure it’s tipped over that line, but DM me if you’re interested.

I think there’s sometimes a very fine line between a lowball offer and what someone is willing to pay for something based on what they’ve paid for things in the past!
I had an eBay seller respond to my offer with utmost disgust the other day highlighting just how much he had paid for the object I “lowballed” on, before I promptly responded with an informed example of where I could buy said object, with free postage, for a matter of about £3 more than I’d offered him...
Much like beauty, lowballing is often in the eye of the beholder, where someone who goes out and pays RRP for everything may baulk at an otherwise very sensible and well informed offer!
-
• #4773
When making an offer it really helps to say why your offer is reasonable...
-
• #4774
I guess I spend a good amount of time researching the cheapest option for someone to purchase what I’m selling and also historically what it has been sold for, rather than just what the general RRP is....
I feel it also really helps for sellers to justify why they think their sale price is reasonable, much more helpful than immediately brandishing someone a ‘lowballer’. -
• #4775
The process I use is a combination of discount to current retail price and sold items on eBay. That sounds similar to what you do @Dick, doesn’t it?
Additionally, I’m not so sure I’m worried about different perceptions of value. Everyone is always going to have a different use of an item and willingness/ability to pay. No problems!
It’s when lowballing on this forum becomes a business model. Everyone knows prices here are a touch lower than elsewhere, there’s a community element that’s in play.
What got on my nerves was the suspicion that someone is using that community spirit to make a quick buck, at the expense of the community.
Specific red flags, each by themselves completely harmless, but together made me post the above:
- Immediate DM when items listed
- Move to text ASAP
- “Are you ready to sell quickly?”
- After firm no, repeated text check-ins: “Hey, hows everything?”
- Same user constantly selling high end kit, claiming ‘new whip’
- Ads for same stuff on other sites at the same time
My honest guess is they’re playing a marketplace arbitrage game. Can’t prove it, have no interest in doing so. But I can choose not to be a part of it.
The reason I didn’t name names was I’m not certain, and it came up. No big deal.
- Immediate DM when items listed
@Max.Marchant/ @SignOfTheTimes
Same story took my money and ran.
PayPal case deadline is today then I think PayPal get me my money back
Payed by goods and services which is lucky.
Is this guy banned? @Velocio
